Congratulations to Kenya Chairez, Jose Camacho, Onecia Williams, and Andrea Gonzalez-Rubio got the highest score possible (1) at Choir Solo and Ensemble competition this past weekend. They are now eligible to compete at the State competition in Austin. All choir students who competed this past weekend need to go to the choir room when the bell rings.

All seniors who are enrolling in college in the fall in Texas must have a bacterial meningitis vaccine. Go by the College and Career Center to get the form to be completed by your doctor.

If you have been accepted to TYLER JUNIOR COLLEGE, go to the College and Career Center to complete the registration form for the TJC tour. The tour is scheduled for March.

If you are 18 years old, you can vote in the upcoming election which will be held in March.  You must register to vote by today, Monday, February 5, 2018.  Go to the College and Career Center for more information.

The ORDER of the EASTERN STAR Scholarship is available to all 12th grade students.  Go to the COLLEGE and CAREER CENTER to get this scholarship.

Any junior who is interested in ARCHITECTURE, CONSTRUCTION SCIENCE, URBAN PLANNING, VISUAL DESIGN, or LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE is invited to apply for CAMP ARCH held in July 2018.  This week long residential camp is held at TEXAS A&M UNIVERSITY.  Only 75 students will be selected from across the state to attend.  Please see Ms. Perez for information.

Congratulations to Maria Majia on her acceptance to Navarro College in the fall of 2018.

Congratulations to Joshua Ranck on his acceptance to the University of Texas San Antonio for the fall of 2018.

Do you love to dance, cheer and show your school spirit?  If so, come to the Ferris High School cheer interest meeting on Friday, Feb. 9 during 2nd lunch to get more information about the tryouts coming up in March.  Please do not let money be an issue, we will talk those details out with you.  You must attend this meeting or see Coach Davis for information before Feb. 21 or you will not be allowed to tryout.  We would love to see lots of new faces join the squad next year and add to the spirit of this team.

This weekend FHS students participated in the Ennis High School Lion Invitational UIL Meet against students from Waxahachie, Ennis, Red Oak, and several other schools. Many of our students had improved scores from practice tests and virtual meets, and we had several bring home medals and trophies.
